Mira Kanou

Mira Kanou is a beach executive with a speciality in Hearts♥️.

She is a neuroscientific psychiatrist specialized in hallucinations and hallucinogen related research. She is a permanent citizen of the borderlands serving as the Queen of hearts♥️. She infiltrated as a beach executive along with Kuzuryu to better observe the players during the first stage of borderlands. She serves as the final antagonist of the borderland games during Arisu batch's immigration period.

Mira is depicted as an enigmatic figure with a keen interest in observing human nature and how they react to certain situations, often noted to have a "childlike curiosity" towards such topics. She is indifferent about people in general and think of the deaths in borderlands to be just a part of the game. She also enjoys seeing people struggle and find their way through life not because of sadism but genuine curiosity towards human minds and chooses to be a resident for that exact reason.

During her time as a player, she first decided to observe other players from the sidelines without involving herself with them but as days went, she genuinely started enjoying her time with other players especially with Kuzuryu, Kyuma and Shiratobi (who'd eventually defeat and become King of Diamond♦️, spade♠️and clubs♣️ respectively). She defeats the Queen of hearts ♥️ of her cycle on her own and before going to battle the remaining King of Hearts♥️ with the others, she suggests that they may get a choice to stay behind as permanent citizens replacing the current citizens after defeating all citizens and states that she will stay. When all others decide to stay behind aswell, she says "we must be sick in their heads".

In the final battle as the Queen of hearts♥️, she keeps suggesting Arisu to not search for "answers" and when Arisu kept demanding her for the answer for what is borderlands and the reason for everyone's death, she tells him several extravagantly made up stories to fulfill his desire for an answer before revealing that they were all lies and she still have more made up answers to share. She believes that the "answer" doesn't matter and that people search for answers and Raison d'etre because they are simply bored. That they are bored of living hence they search for a reason to live and if they really enjoyed their lives, they would never bother seeking one. When Arisu finally accepts that the answer doesn't matter and stops seeking for one, she says that even not seeking for an answer is also an answer you can seek.

Although not specifically stated, her views on the topic of "answer", the fact that she had prepared many made up stories beforehand and that during her days as a player she first secluded herself but slowly started enjoying the days with other players, it may be an implication that she too once searched for an answer, coming up with several possible "answers" hoping that one of them maybe true but then realized that the answer never mattered and she can just enjoy life as it is without worrying about anything else like reason to live, answer behind the borderlands and future/past.
